Most casinos allow you to take double odds on you Pass Line bet.

I have been studying and playing craps for about a year and a half now, using the 5-Count and have a question about pass line bets. Why would you want to make a pass line or "put" bet when you can place the point number after it has been made?
You get a better return on your wager when factoring in the even money portion of the wager, unless you are wagering over 5 times odds. I understand the effect of rolling a 7 or 11 on the come-out roll but in utilizing the 5-Count this usually does not factor in unless the roller has made his point and has moved past the 5-Count threshold.
